What engine with a semiautomatic transmission will fit in a 96 Lincoln town car?

I want to put engine with more horsepower and a semiautomatic transmission in my 96 Lincoln. Do you know what engine will do that?|||Actually the stock '96 Town Car engine has lots of potential and there are many performance parts available for it. It has the same 4.6 2-valve V8 used in the 1996-1998 Mustang GT. Two big factors to consider are how much power you want and what your budget is. A supercharger kit and custom exhaust system would be a good option to give that engine lots of extra power.

But modifying engines is expensive and you can buy a new performance engine with a warranty, which may be a better option. Look into performance 4.6 and 5.4 V8 crate engines (Modular design). Also check out performance fuel injected 5.0 and 5.8 V8 crate engines (Windsor design).

The stock transmission should work unless you want a different one. It may need to be modified to handle the extra power.
