He had beliefs which were obvious in his actions.
Honesty!
Morality!
Integrity!
Fairness!
Strong belief in our Constitution.
Belief in the Supreme Being. Surely he was well rewarded.
He had to believe and practice the Ten Commandments!
These beliefs surely influenced his decisions and actions regarding the Civil War.
He sacrificed with many negative opinions about himself and believed in the legitimacy of sacfrice for the good of all.
Even his own murder as a result of those beliefs.
Just my opinion from what I know of his history.
