Why is the election of Abraham Lincoln as President considered to be an immediate cause of the Civil War?

A)Most northerners did not like Lincoln because of his radical ideas.

B)Lincoln lost the popular vote while winning the electoral vote.

C)Lincoln came into office on a promise that he would start war.

D)Southerners were afraid that Lincoln would abolish slavery.|||The south said if Lincon was elected they would brake away because he was campaigning to end slavery and was going to put other restrictions on the southern states|||because us republicans knew he wanted to free the slaves

(abe was a liberal republican)
