How can i make a Lincoln Mark VIII converteble?

I owne a lincoln mark 8 and i vould love to make it converteble, i don't know anyone hwo have done it befoure. If you hapend to know how i can i make this happend pleas help me out. Thank You!|||Indeed, the roof is a major part of a cars structure. You will have to reinforce the frame or you will have problems like doors not opening or closing. The car will actually sag in the middle.

The next situation to face is that you will need a convertible donor car. You will need to change everything convertible related to the hardtop. Doors, windshield, underbody supports, mounting points for the convertible mechanism. You will have to move the hydraulics, the motor pump, cylinders, lines. You will have weeks involved with bodywork and aligning the folding frame. This is a massive undertaking. I have seen people try it. I have never seen anybody succeed. The cars always ended up in the scrap yard. You are much better off selling your car and buying a convertible. However, you might investigate a Carson top.|||You will have to take it to a custom shop that is qualified for major things like that. There is more to it than just cutting the roof off. There is a lot of extra support that has to be welded in, because taking the roof off seriously weakens the entire structure of the car. It can and has been done I am sure, you just need to do your homework to be sure it is done in a safe and reliable way. You wouldnt want to be driving down the road and the car break in half. Good luck!|||probably wouldnt be road legal afterwards
