How long does it take to get from Lincoln Park to downtown Chicago?

I'm going to be moving to Chicago in a few months and am trying to figure out how long it will take me to commute to work via the El. I'm looking at areas like Lincoln Park and Lakeside. Could someone tell me approximately how long it would take from either of these locations?|||It takes between 20 and 35 minutes. While it's only 4 miles, the crush of people makes it take longer during rush hours and there will be trains that you have to pass by because they are full.|||Lincoln Park is just a couple miles or so north of downtown. Depending on where you're going from in Lincoln Park and to in the Loop, I'd estimate around 10-15 minutes. Lakeview is a little further, it might take 15-20 minutes. It depends on whether you're using the Red Line or Brown Line. The Brown Line sometime suffers from traffic in the Loop.|||Lincoln Park is 10 minutes, Lakeview 15 once you are on the train.
