Do you think a 1988 lincoln town car thats in very good condition is worth anything?

my grandma bought it brand new and has always been garaged, it's got like 120,000 miles on it. it's black paint is pretty much flawless and all original. is it worth it to keep it or should she just get rid of it? the kbb value on it is pretty low but is it considered a classic?

also it's got velour seats, not leather, which is very rare in a lincoln.|||Keep it. It's worth a lot more than the book says. Solid, very maintainable chassis. Parts are cheap. And it's a sweet car to drive to boot. Keep it.|||The velour seating wasn't that rare in those cars later Lincoln pretty much went all leather but that is not the case for the 1980's. With 120,000 miles its not going to be worth a whole lot for a long time. Here's what make it collectible, low miles preferably under 50,000 but slightly over isn't bad. Being a signature series model or Cartier model and to a lessor degree the color and the options like Moonroof and the factory wire rims. They made and sold a lot of these cars from 1980 to 1989 and there is still a lot of them left on the road so you have to have a unique one. Now 10 to 15 years from now things will change some but not a lot. It will cost you more to keep it then what its worth with maintenance and up keep and storage its just not worth the time and money.|||Those boxy 80's Lincolns do not bring much in the way of price when sold since there are so many of them around still and they are not very unique. The better value is to keep it and use it if it's still a good running clean vehicle. You couldn't expect to get more than about $1,500 for it by selling it. Best of luck!|||It may not be a 'classic' in the true sense of the word, objectively speaking, but it is a solid, reliable and comfortable car.

If it's been maintained and serviced properly it should last another 100K miles.

Could not agree more MikeR !|||That car is considered to be a classic now as fewer and fewer are on the road.k The color of it will allow it to shine up real nice. It may be worth keeping as the engine in that car is a small v8, good on gas and quite durable. I know because I have one and its a real head turner.......keep it|||It depends on the market and how well maintained it is. Also if well maintained you need records. How well does it run?? You might find someone who would want this to keep for an older vehicle to someday be a classic but it would be a while before this came about. Hope this helps.
