What would cause my 89 Lincoln town car to not start?

my 89 lincoln towncar won't start. It has been running fine but all of a sudden it wouldn't start once stopped. There is power and the instrument panel display and radio comes on so it is not the battery. I replaced the silinoid but when I hold up the turn signal to start the car it doesn't do anything, doesnt even click. What could be the problem? and any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks|||power tolight or radio as littl eto do with power to starter which require ten time more to turnover motor than a raido does to work so clean your battery cables most likey the problem|||You can't test a battery by looking at it and seeing your lights come on! If the battery is over 4 years old, I'd replace it no matter how good it tests and you need to have the auto store do a "load test" on it. Once the engine cranks over fast enough and generates at least 9.6 volts across the battery while the engine is cranking, then you can ask "why doesn't the engine "start". First check for good spark with the spark tester below. Fords of that vintage had ignition module failures. Watch the battery change video below to clean the battery and cable terminals.

Most car batteries are in the 500-800 amp range, and are 12 volts. Its possible for a battery to produce 12 volts, so some of the lights will work, but it's only making 20 amps. After that I would look at the battery cables.|||Replace the starter relay and drive away !!!!!
