We are Not having No Luck finding a Transmission for our 1995 Lincoln Continental. I was wondering and hoping that There is another transmission our of another ford car that will work. If anyone knows Please reply . Thank you very Much!|||1995-97 Continental only. Although it's essentially the same AX4N as found in Ford Windstars and Tauruses, only the Continental has the 4.6 V8, so that makes it unique.
If you are trying to find a used transmission, there are plenty of them out there. Just look them up on
http://www.car-part.com/ to find one local to you. Starting at about $350. If no one is close enough, many places listed will ship transmissions.
When you are looking them up, it doesn't' actually matter if the transmission is "column" or "floor" shifted. The shifter arm and bracket that make that difference will take the mechanic maybe an extra two minutes to swap over while the transmission is being changed.
